Sorbitol is commercially manufactured by the high pressure hydrogenation of dextrose solutions using a nickel catalyst. Sorbitol is a Lyophilic, non toxic, non irritant, stable and chemically inert, resistant to heat, resistant to acid and is non fermentable by micro organisms. |
